The Wonder – Women in IT & Digital is a service platform focused on female empowerment. Our goals:

  • To enable women working in IT and Digital to be the very best versions of themselves
  • To enable companies to build more diverse teams and support their female employees in their IT and Digital roles
  • To build and be part of a collective

The Wonder works across three service pillars: Coaching, Culture Creating and Community, supported by The Wonder Blog where you’ll find useful posts and guides supporting women working in IT and Digital in their career aspirations, plus relevant information around topics such as technology, female empowerment and wellbeing.

Whether you are a SQL developer, IT business analyst, digital project manager or an SEO graduate – technical, managerial or both – The Wonder will support your professional enhancement and personal growth. The service pillars offer something for women at all levels and stages of their careers.

I’m Lucy Grimwade, coach and founder of The Wonder – Women in IT & Digital.

I have a BSc in Computing, ITIL qualifications in Foundation, Design and Transition as well as certifications in Project Management and Change. I am currently undertaking an accredited ICF Coaching Programme to give me the qualification to compliment my experience.

My career journey started working on an IT Service Desk. By taking on new opportunities, being very curious and always challenging the status quo, I have progressed up the career ladder from first line to second line then into service delivery to finally landing a management position.

I have encountered many challenges along the way, from lack of support or access to coaching, to bad company cultures with glass ceilings and, of course, the gender pay gap.  I have experienced first-hand damaging situations that can so easily cause self-doubt, yet have found and grasped opportunities to shine and progress.

The truth is, it’s hard being a woman in business and harder still being a woman in the IT business.

I created The Wonder to be a platform where I can share my experience to help and shape others on their own journeys. Who better to work with than a woman who has already experienced the glass ceiling and broken through it!
